These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website https://byreinn.co.uk/ (the "Website"), as well as any interactions with The Byre Inn's physical venue, services, products, and events once operational from April 2026.
The Byre Inn is a welcoming café, village shop, and events space situated in Brig o' Turk, Callander, Perthshire FK17 8HT, within Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, and is operated by Trossachs Independent Traders Limited ("we", "us", or "our").
By accessing the Website, making enquiries, provisional bookings, purchases, or (from April 2026) visiting the venue, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website or our services.
These Terms are effective as of 26 February 2026 and apply to all aspects of our operations, including pre-opening interest. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time; changes will be posted on the Website. Your continued use constitutes acceptance of any modifications.
1. Website Use
- Access and Availability — The Website provides information about our café, shop, events space, bike hire, and contact options. We aim to keep it accessible but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend or terminate access without notice for maintenance, security, or other reasons.
- User Conduct — You must use the Website lawfully and not for any harmful purpose. Prohibited actions include transmitting viruses, unauthorised access, data scraping, or submitting offensive content. You are responsible for any material you submit via contact forms or other means.

2. Enquiries and Pre-Opening Contact

- Any expressions of interest, provisional bookings, or event discussions before April 2026 are non-binding and do not create a contract until we confirm in writing (post-opening) and receive any required deposit where applicable.
3. Café Services (from April 2026)
- We will serve hearty breakfasts (including Full Scottish cooked in wood-fired pizza ovens), wood-fired pizzas, fresh-baked bread and daily treats, quality hot and cold drinks, and seasonal specials. Menus are subject to change depending on availability and seasonality.
- We make every effort to accommodate dietary requests and will provide information on allergens when asked. However, we cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment. You must inform staff of any allergies or intolerances; we accept no liability for reactions unless caused by our negligence.
- Food and drink are for on-site consumption or takeaway as stated. Outside food and drink are not permitted without our express permission.
- No alcohol is sold on the premises. You may bring your own alcohol subject to a corkage charge (details available on request once open).
- All prices are in GBP and include VAT where applicable. Payment is due at the time of service by cash, card, contactless, or other methods we accept. We reserve the right to refuse service.
4. Village Shop
- We will stock everyday essentials (milk, bread, tea, coffee, sugar, snacks), local preserves, eggs, and other artisan/community products. Availability is subject to stock and suppliers.
- In-person purchases only at the venue (no online shop at present). If online sales are introduced later, separate terms will apply.
- Goods are sold as described under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Returns or exchanges are accepted for faulty or misdescribed items within 14 days with proof of purchase. Perishable items are non-returnable except where faulty.
5. Events, Private Functions, and Weddings
- The versatile space is available for community gatherings, workshops, private functions, and weddings.
- Enquiries via the methods above. A non-refundable deposit (typically 50% of the estimated fee) will be required to secure a date; balance due (normally 30 days) before the event.
- Cancellations and Refunds (example structure – subject to final confirmation):
- More than 60 days before: full refund minus reasonable administration fee.
- 30–60 days before: 50% refund.
- Less than 30 days before: no refund.
- We may cancel for reasons beyond our control (force majeure); a full refund will be issued.
- All attendees must follow venue policies. You are responsible for any damage caused by your group or guests.
6. Bike Hire
- Quality bikes (with helmets and locks) will be available for hire to explore the Trossachs trails and active travel options.
- Separate hire agreement to be signed on collection. Hirers must be competent cyclists and follow safety guidelines. We accept no liability for accidents unless due to our negligence.
7. Payments and Financial Terms
- Accepted methods: cash, debit/credit cards, contactless payments (specific methods confirmed on opening).
- Refunds processed to the original payment method within 14 days where applicable. Refunds are at our discretion subject to statutory rights.
- Prices include applicable VAT. Any additional fees will be clearly stated.
8. Liability and Disclaimers
- To the extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect, consequential, or special losses. Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the relevant transaction.
- The premises are used at your own risk. We are not liable for loss or theft of personal belongings.
- No liability for failure or delay due to events beyond our reasonable control (e.g. severe weather, strikes, pandemics).
- Website content is provided "as is" without warranties as to accuracy or completeness.
9. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the law of Scotland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
